Is this plsce far from any museum ??
This place is not messing around. INCREDIBLE MOZZARELLA STICKS !!!! Guess what they ? They make them .. that's right no frozen processed nonsense , these are the real freaking deal, not to mention they are much larger than your average stick.. π Now my sandwich was out of the park . I had the spicy Polynesian chicken and I would order it a thousand and one times over , out freaking standing, and I can't leave the pea salad without mention because I ate every single pea. 5 stars to The Onion Bar !
MoreFood was amazing and very satisfiying. We had the macaroni and cheese and the sirloin with the pepper sauce and both items were more than worth the money. My wife and I shared both of them and we're very satisfied leaving. We also had a warm butter rum drink and although a little on the strong side, it was very good as well. We would definitely recommend this place.
MoreThe Onion is a staple every time I am in Spokane! Both loctions are fantastic. This trip I ordered the Kumo burger and fries, seriously one of the best burgers I have had in a long time.
Moregreat beer selection, even better with the concrete bar top with the built in chillers that keep your beer cold... so cool! Bartender made great recommendations on the IPAs and was super fast. Food items are great, many made from scratch. Canβt go wrong with the pea salad for the side.
MoreNice vibe, good burgers, big selection of beer. Cool place to visit while on a trip. The pea salad was interesting, I liked it, but loved it with ketchup!
MoreThe jalapeno burger and the fries are very good. The onion rings were a little doughy. Also the chocolate sauce on the ice cream was very good.
MoreMy significant other and I came to enjoy my birthday lunch and ordered their onion rings as an appetizer. The onion rings were very greasy, it was sitting in a puddle of oil on the plate. For the entrΓ©e we ordered two burgers hoping it would make up for the onion rings, yet we were disappointed when I picked the burger up and the bun was soggy. When I asked for a new bun I then had to pick my burger apart piece by piece and place it on a new bun instead of them taking it back to the kitchen. This experience was horrible and not worth the Forty dollars.
MoreMy favorite menu in all of Spokane! So many options for food.... But the Area 51 Tap House is the real reason I keep going back to the Onion. This is the only tap house/restaurant Iβve been to that ALWAYS has 4 ciders on tap! THANK YOU!!!
MoreCruz was a fabulous server and made me a delicious huckleberry mojito! The food was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend this place!
MoreWould have made it a five star but we had a hard time getting a table. Iβm thirty one years old and they gave me a kids menu. The bathrooms had no ac and it must have been 100 degrees! On the plus side the food was good. I recommend the baked speghetti. Might come back to check out their happy hour menu.
MoreGreat place for happy hour, or even dinner. Local items and huge beer selection. Service can run a little thin when they are busy, when is usually all the time. We enjoy this place, good burgers and other various cuisines.
MoreUsally the food here is great but tonight was the exception. You figure when you order a burger called the best American cheeseburger that would at least be palatable. That is not the care with this burger. With the Kraft cheese slice they used and the over salted meat I Wuld not recomend this burger.
MoreSo amazing and delicious! They were quick and helpful in finding gluten free food. As someone with celiacs, I was so grateful for the staff because they saved my birthday dinner and took all the proper precautions necessary for my health. Thank you all so much!
MoreGreat atmosphere. Food was excellent
I had lunch at the Onion. I ordered the Cobb salad. First, the lettuce was packaged lettuce with tons of that filler purple cabbage. Secondly there was 1 blue cheese crumble. It was the only thing good about the salad. The chicken was a piece of cardboard. A huge pile of red onion and an under ripe acocado. The dressing was basically straight apple cider vinegar. The salad was the worst salad I have had in years for over $17.00Do not go to this place if you are trying to eat anything good for you. Honestly how can you mess up a salad??
MoreWe haven't been up on the north side for dinner in years. Dinner was quite good. The service was great and no less than 3 staff said goodbye and thanked us for coming in. We'll be back.
MoreAlways amazing food. They are taking extra steps to keep customers safe during covid. Every one working there wearing masks and keeping their distance, it was our first time eating out during covid and we felt so safe there. They have Cougar gold cheese, which I highly recommend. Amazing atmosphere and the people that work there go above and beyond for the customers. If you enjoy craft beers this place has so many choices.
MoreFast and friendly service, husband used to work here so I know theyβre good people. Sarah was our server and I liked her, she was attentive and sweet. Bill the manager was very nice too, attending to guests etc. thanks guys π
MoreThis place was on point! Loved the selection of beer on tap. β€οΈ Menu choice was hard to decide.. So many good options. The bartender recommended anything with their pepper sauce, and he was right. We had the steak as well as the Philly, and we can't wait to be back. Great, very great service! Our new must stop place in Spokane.
MoreBEST Beef Onion Bisque. Wonderful Cesar salad with fried oysters. Fantastic service. Will go back some time for drinks and dessert.
MoreLunch with my sister β€οΈ She had a Reuben sandwich which had a big stack of corn beef, cheese and sauerkraut- she said it was delicious...served with hot crispy fries. I had a Big O burger, with cheddar cheese, big tasty strips of bacon and avocado ..Yum E! We each had one of the Onion's famous giant onion rings...sweet and delicious with batter coating, served with the best homemade tartar sauce in Spokane: chunks of pickles and sweet onions, so wonderful! We also had warm huckleberry apple cobbler with a crumble topping and whip cream- delicious! We both took home some of our food because the portions are generous and we were stuffed! Our server was Joe C.- we had him once before and he does a great job! Got drink refills, extra tartar and was generally awesome!
MoreAbsolutely wonderful! Food and service was fantastic!
I drove like 6 miles from my hotel to eat again at The Onion. 4 years ago I had the pleasure of eating at The Onion with our daughter. She was working through her Gonzaga Experience and The Onion was prime time. She was right, so good! 4 years later, last week, I had the best meal, a turkey avacado. The Onion, way up north Spokane, is a big deal.
MoreWent because had decent gluten free options. Told server gluten free. Got steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. I was told all gluten free. There was a pepper sauce on steak, kinda like a dark greenish/ brown color. There was a gluten free little stick stuck in steak saying plate gluten free. Well, I'm totally sick from it! I just finally called them and they told me the pepper sauce isn't gluten free. And the lady on the phone didn't say anything helpful not did she care about the fact I'm in extreme pain now and totally sick. Don't go to the onion if you're gluten free!!!
MoreI hosted an event in the private dining area in the back for approximately 30 people and we had more than enough space! The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. The beer selection was great and we enjoyed the apps and dinner as well. To keep it more intimate and quiet, it has doors that close, an HDMI hook up for our presentation and a relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend for anyone looking for a group dining space!
MoreGreat food, great service, always a fun time there. Huge shout out to our fabulous server, Dejana. Thanks for making our visit extra special!
MoreRhe corn beef I got was dry I barely ate it. For an 84 dollar meal I filled up on mashed potatoes and soda.. kinda wish i got more bang for my buck. This was a special dish and it said served with juicy corn beef. I got nothing of the sort. Sadly. I probably wont go back for the price
MoreVery unique place! Nothing on the menu was ordinary or something you can order anywhere else. Highly recommend! The staff was enthusiastic and made great recommendations as well.
MoreThe service was fast and friendly, our server gave us the right amount of attention and all our food tastes great. The beer on tap selection was decent with some pretty good lagers and ports. I'll definitely bring my family here again.
MoreThe OBG is back. Best burger in Spokane. One a week is what I seek.
Have not been here since I was a kid until last weekend. I loved it. The atmosphere was great and friendly. The waiter was great despite having to cater to a very large table. And my food was excellent. Way better fries than red robin. I recommend the cougar gold burger. Delicious!
MoreGreat service and operated well within the current restrictions. Felt very comfortable eating here.
MoreI ate with a group, where all of us have different diet restrictions, the menu and options for all was great. The food was tasty even if the service was a little slow. I know the next time I am back in spokane, I will enjoy another meal here.
MoreLil pricey. Good service.
Salad was wilty. Maybe 3 bites if chicken in Cobb salad. French fries good. Onion rings delicious. Tarter sauce tasted home made. Ranch dressing was good. Not sure if will return.
MoreFresh food, great brews! Never had brussel sprouts cooked like this, so tasty! Steak a little dry but good flavor.
MoreI came here the other night and the bartender did NOT wear a mask when he was mixing drinks which is DISGUSTING considering the increase in cases of covid in Spokane. I also saw another girl coworker walk into the kitchen without a mask. We also asked our bartender for waters and he never brought them and also took FOREVER to bring our drafts. I DO NOT SUGGEST COMING HERE . Please review the bartender on 7/19/20 at around 8:00-9:00 and talk to him.
MoreAwesome food! The huckleberry bbq ribs were awesome. The cod and chips were crisp and flavorful. Wonderful atmosphere.
MoreGreat food, friendly staff, different menu..lots to choose from. Really liked it. I'll go again.
MoreFood was bland and soggy, they forgot to bring me a water and the person waiting us only had two other tables. Food is way overpriced for the quality so I'm definitely not going back again.
MoreI had some gluten free pizza there and they have all sorts of options whoever those who're allergic or sensitive to gluten!! One of my favorites!!!
MoreFantastic service and atmosphere! The Margarita's were very good also . My food was kind of disappointing.. I got the cod and chips. Fries were phenomenal but fish wasn't good at all..
MoreI've always loved The Onion and in the light of Covid19, they've truly outdone themselves. The menu is limited at this time, but still amazing.id highly recommend trying the cheese sticks and a draft brew. The staff was courteous, fun and knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend.
MoreBeen wanting to visit the onion for a while now and thought this would be a great experience, but the food turned out to be very disappointing after a long wait :( my burger fell apart and crumbled on the floor, also had a gigantic uncut onion plopped on there(I know its the onion but that doesn't taste good for anyone, there was more onion than the actual burger or bun) pea salad was not tasteful or a normal serving in my opinion, the prices were high for no good reason. We waited over 2 hours just to receive a small over priced meal that left us hungry and dissatisfied. Will stick to huhot and other great priced/tasting buffets next time.
MoreGreat American cuisine restraurant, with a family friendly atmosphere. Hostess was very attentive and served orders in a timely manner, making dining with toddlers much less painful. Fries and soft drinks are endless, and onion rings are filling. Also great birthday dessert offering.
MoreWent this past Sat around 5ish. Atmosphere, Food and drink were good. The french fries were a hit. The service not so much. Waited about 15 minutes to be sat down at an area that was empty the entire time we were waiting (I was lookimg!) They also sat guests out of order... So that was a little bit frustrating for a 1st time guest. It didn't seem the hostesses were organized and too busy chatting with each other. Overall a little over priced, a lunch menu would be nice. Not sure if we'll go back with so many other options out there.
More$31 Peppercorn Sirloin steak dinner. The price is high for this cut of beef. The steak had very little flavor and did not taste seasoned well. The sauce is where they put the peppercorn and the flavor. I ordered med-rare but to err on the side of underdone rather than overdone. They cooked it to the latter rather than the former. The 'buttery green beans' lacked seasonings and were lackluster; as were the potatoes and toast.Cheesecake for dessert. Ho-hum.Ok meal, but for $63 (including 2 adult beverages for me), I expect a lot better. The bright spot is in the wait staff. I felt well served but not smothered; a fine line which the staff walks admirably. $17 tip for them.$80 all in. Would I go back? Sadly, I wouldn't. Value is not there. I could have had a better seasoned meal at Sheri's.
MoreGood food, had to send back the wife's burger, but it came back quick. Host sat us before another couple who arrived before us. Other than that service was good. Would go back to try
MoreGood place to eat. Looks like a limited menu for the time being but they were able to fix us something that wasn't on there. All the brew taps look to be fully functional!
MoreEven in these times of strangeness it was outstanding. The service has only got better.
